What a weekend SLSCA board members had while Limbe author Imbolo Mbue was in town! Friday night, she gave a wonderful presentation at Seattle Arts & Lectures. At Book-It Theatre on Saturday night, we attended the theatrical debut of her novel, "Behold the Dreamers." But the highlight (for us!) was hosting a brunch for Imbolo and her family at LueRachelle's house on Saturday morning. We showed her a video from a Cameroon trip, featuring an elder women's singing group which included Imbolo's mom! Imbolo is a gracious, open, insightful woman with a wonderful sense of humor. We look forward to keeping up with her and reading everything she writes!
