Providing Clean Water: A Collaborative Effort Between SLSCA and Numerous Rotary Clubs

At the heart of our mission at the Seattle Limbe Sister Cities Association (SLSCA) lies a commitment to fostering sustainable development and improving the quality of life for communities in Limbe, Cameroon. One of our primary initiatives focuses on providing access to clean water, a fundamental necessity for health and well-being.

In August 2022, we are thrilled to announce the successful completion of a significant clean water project in collaboration with Seattle Rotary 4, five other Rotary Clubs, and the Limbe, Cameroon Rotary. Together, we worked tirelessly to dig a borehole (water well) and install a 20,000-liter water system at the Limbe Regional Hospital, serving not only the hospital but also five surrounding neighborhoods.

Access to clean water is essential for healthcare facilities, as it ensures proper sanitation, hygiene, and the ability to provide adequate medical care. With this new water system in place, the Limbe Regional Hospital is better equipped to serve its patients and community effectively.

Moreover, the impact of this project extends beyond the hospital walls. The five neighborhoods surrounding the hospital now have access to clean, safe water, improving the overall health and well-being of the residents. Clean water is a basic human right, and through collaborative efforts like these, we are working to make this right a reality for communities in Limbe.

This achievement would not have been possible without the dedication and support of the Seattle Rotary Clubs and our partners in Limbe, Cameroon. Their commitment to service and community development has been instrumental in bringing this project to fruition.

As we celebrate this milestone, we also recognize that there is still much work to be done. Access to clean water remains a significant challenge for many communities around the world, and we are committed to continuing our efforts to address this issue in Limbe and beyond.

Together, we can make a difference. By supporting initiatives like clean water projects, we are not only improving health outcomes but also creating a brighter future for generations to come. Thank you to all who have contributed to this important cause, and we look forward to continuing our work together.

Stay tuned for more updates on our ongoing projects and how you can get involved in making a positive impact in our sister city of Limbe, Cameroon.

Thank you to our wonderful collaborators...
